Junior prom was great because my parents paid for it all, including my very expensive designer dress that cost about four hundred dollars. The sad thing was that after spending all that money, my dress ended up dirty and with 2 small tears in it – presumably because I had the time of my life at prom, which I did. For senior prom, my parents caught on and decided to instill responsibility in me by making me pay for my own dress and pay my own way. Save some money, girl and you can spend it on other areas of the night and have fun!

Even though it was hard work and I was initally upset my parents made me pay for stuff, I did find the perfect gown for the night. Don’t settle for a dress you’re not happy with – keep looking until you know you have the right one (and yes, this applies to prom dates, too). You won’t regret it!
